ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Aaron Judge sat again against the Rays at the start of the series on Friday, with the right fielder battling pain on his left side.
It is the second game in a row that Judge has been excluded from the line-up – along with the team’s rest day on Thursday.
Despite returning home in each of his previous two games, Judge seemed uncomfortable on the bases and in the right field in his last game on Tuesday. Aaron Boone has said the pain that arose in that game wasn’t why he was drawn after seven innings on Monday or played the last three Grapefruit League games of spring training.
« I had just felt like I wanted to wait another day, « Boone said on Friday. « We’ll see where he is in 24 hours. It’s just about playing the long game and not forcing anything. »
