WWE Monday Night Raw comes waltzing back into our lives tonight (Sept. 14, 2020) from the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Tonight’s show is “In Your Face.” That means we’ll get Drew McIntyre vs. Keith Lee, Asuka defending the women’s championship against Mickie James, Dominik Mysterio vs. Seth Rollins inside a steel cage, the Street Profits vs. Cesaro & Shinsuke Nakamura in a Champions vs. Champions match, and more!

Come right back here at 8 p.m. ET when the Raw live blog kicks off once the show starts on USA. It will be below this line here. (REMINDER: NO GIFS OR PICS ARE ALLOWED IN THE COMMENTS SECTION. OFFENDERS WILL BE BANNED.)

It would be wrong to ask you why because I know what goes inside is only half of what comes out. Isn’t that what it’s about? To remind us we’re alive, to remind us we’re not blind in that big, black hole, comfortable. Digging the grave, I got it made, and I’ve got to liveblog this here pro wrestling show for you, folks.

Your commentary team tonight is Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and Dolph Ziggler, and they hype tonight’s show up.

Drew McIntyre makes his entrance and we get a recap of all the recent Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton business.

He gets on the mic and says he’s back and he considers himself lucky that Orton only broke his jaw. He says WWE medical personnel told him to take some time off, but he didn’t want to forfeit the title and he said no, but one bad strike to the jaw would displace his fracture and leave him having to get his jaw wired shut, but that’s fine because he’d rather leave in an ambulance than leave the title behind.

He tells Randy they’ve both had ambulance rides lately, so he wants their match at Clash of Champions to be an Ambulance Match. He says he created the Claymore by accident, which is just a blatant lie because he stole it Mega Man style from Roderick Strong after he beat him in their feud in Evolve.

Anyway, five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce comes down and says it’s highly unlikely that Randy Orton will be here tonight and he might not even be able to make Clash of Champions, and that changes the gravity of tonight. Now his match against Keith Lee tonight is about more than bragging rights, because if Lee wins tonight and Orton’s too hurt to compete, Keith will get the match.

He and Drew shake hands and share a few words, but when McIntyre goes to walk away, Keith holds his grip. Lee goes to leave and the same thing happens in reverse, and we go to break.

Back from commercial, the Artist Collective get an inset promo where they talk some trash on the Street Profits.

Cesaro nails Dawkins with an uppercut out the gates and takes him in the corner for the tag and to set the tempo. It’s not a long heat segment, Angelo gets the tag, double teams from the Raw champs, SmackDown boys on the floor, Ford with a tope con giro but they catch him and powerbomb him into the barricade to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Cesaro is in control on Ford, but the Raw champ fires up and posts him shoulder-first! Tags made, Dawkins comes in hot with lariats, duck one in return, big corkscrew elbow! Cesaro comes in and gets dropped, overhead exploder on Nakamura, only two! Sidestep the charge, kicks in the corner, Shinsuke follows them up with the sliding through-the-ropes German suplex!

Fired up, but Angelo hits the Sky High and makes the tag! Montez off the top… NAKAMURA GETS THE KNEES UP! Cesaro throws Dawkins out of the ring, Shinsuke with the cover… STILL NO! Cesaro back in, swinging Ford into the Kinshasa… ANGELO BREAKS IT UP! Choking him in the ropes, Nakamura with a kick, Montez with a schoolboy for two!

Cesaro pops him up… SWISS DEATH CAN’T PUT FORD AWAY! Dawkins sidesteps a charge on the floor and Nakamura goes knee-first into the steel steps! Cesaro draws Ford up, throws him into the corner and lights him up with strikes, laying him out with an uppercut! Arguing with referee Eddie Orengo, climbing up, deadlift superplex but Dawkins tagged in…

Lana is upset that James got the title shot tonight when Natalya deserves it more. Zelina Vega and Andrade “Cien” Almas roll up and Vega berates Garza for leaving Almas hanging, and Angel says he’s tired of being blamed for every setback, because the golden boy lost the match last weeek.

Andrade gets in his face and asks him what happened, and they have a heated conversation in Spanish until Zelina breaks it up. She says she can’t do this any more and walks off, which leads the boys to get into a fight as we go to break.

He has an official announcement for us— business is booming. The CEO, Bobby Lashley, is firmly in possession of the United States Championship, Shelton Benjamin has upgraded from the Gold Standard to Platinum Status, and Cedric Alexander has met with his accountant and he’s officially part of the Hurt Business.

Cedric talks about everybody on social media giving him flack for turning on his friends, but he defends himself by saying this is his job and he’ll do what it takes to succeed.

Crews gets on the mic and says he’s gonna call it like it is— Cedric turned his back on them because he’s weak-minded and MVP manipulated him, and now he has to live with the consequences. They’ve always had his back— Alexander cuts him off and asks how many times he caught a beating for him when he was United States Champion.

Shelton says he doesn’t owe them any explanation because they’re jealous, and Ricochet tells him to mind his own business. They understand it is what it is, and after last week, he’s gonna find out that getting attacked by his former friends is worse than anything that the Hurt Business did to him.

Ricochet with a double leg into grounded punches, Alexander out and in with strikes, whip across, Ricky hangs on the ropes and gets a back elbow before passing Cedric to the floor and slingshotting to the apron for a boot to the face and the kickflip moonsault! Apollo Crews attacks Shelton Benjamin but Bobby Lashley takes him out in turn.

Erik from the Viking Raiders makes the save and he and Lashley brawl off as we go to break.

Back from commercial, Alexander is in control, grinding Ricochet down with a waistlock. Ricky fights out with punches to the head, Cedric fires back and draws him up but Ricochet keeps throwing hands. Off the ropes, big knee lift from Alexander sets up a dropkick for two. Cedric pressing the attack, into the ropes for a heavy body blow!

Ricochet whips him across and dropkicks him, charging chop, big kick, waistlock into a full nelson, Dragon suplex into the bridge… NOPE! Up top, nobody home, dropkick, Cedric gets the Michinoku Driver… NOPE! Lumbar Check… IT’S OVER!

Post-match, the lights go out and Retribution cut a promo saying if you sell your soul to a corrupt machine, you become corrupt, and they once believed their time at the Performance Center would lead to fame and fortune, but now they’re going to gut our reality.

The lights come back up and the Hurt Business are ready for a fight but Retribution are nowhere to be seen.

Mickie James is interviewed backstage and talks about how she’s always had what it takes to be the champion.

Back from commercial, five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce is yelling at security for letting Retribution happen again.

The Hurt Business roll up and say it’s time to upgrade security from these boys to the men of the Hurt Business. Pearce considers it before saying he’s right and offering a handshake to his volunteers, but MVP doesn’t take it, saying they’re a business, not a charity, and they’ll have to pay.

Circling, collar and elbow, a vigorous fight into the ropes and down onto the mat while holding onto the lockup. James with a schoolboy attempt, jackknife, no dice and Asuka looks for an armbar takedown but Mickie gets the ropes. Side headlock, reversed, shot off, James trips her up and hits a neckbreaker for two!

Trading strikes, whip reversed, Asuka with the hip toss Alarm Clock… NOPE! Lying in wait, off the ropes, hip attack sidestepped… MICK KICK BUT THE CHAMP FALLS TO THE FLOOR AND WE GO TO BREAK!

Back from commercial, both women down and out, slugging it out with forearms on their knees and to their feet. James with a hammerlock crossface, Asuka backs her into the corner and breaks with back elbows. Boot up in the corner, back elbow, Asuka fires back with the hip attack. Off the ropes, Mickie with a flapjack into a kip-up!

Fired up, Lou Thesz Press into a nearfall, trading forearms, strike rush from Asuka, uraken misses the first time but hits on the rebound! Kicks, off the ropes, James picks a leg into a half-crab! Shifting, Asuka rolls through into a pin for two but Mickie hits a glancing Mick Kick right after… ASUKA GETS THE ROPES!

Cross armbar applied, James gets the ropes this time, stalemate. Front kick, front chancery, the champ slips out, chickenwing, counter with a pin… NOPE! Asuka rolls through, Asuka Lock, Mickie turns it into a pin briefly and the bell rings? Referee Darrick Moore takes a minute to get around to announcing the finish…

She says she’s been thinking about her future, because today it dawned on her that she’s wasted the best years of her career managing those two selfish little ingrates just like Asuka. She says Asuka was handed the title by one of the greatest in the world and she’s been reckless with it, defending it against everybody and their mother, and she’s so focused on the stars of yesterday that she forgot one of the best in the business tonight.

Don’t even bother asking if she’s ready for Asuka, because she’s ready for the title. Asuka responds in Japanese and laughs, and Vega slaps her across the face!

He says people work their entire careers for the kind of opportunity he has tonight, and he’s been honest in his dealings and he gets it, the goal is to be WWE Champion, but he knows that Drew will do whatever it takes to remain WWE Champion and he’ll do what he must to become WWE Champion.

Asked about taking advantage of Drew’s broken jaw, he says he’s a friend and he doesn’t want to take advantage of it, but he’ll do what he must, and we must go to break.

Lashley in fierce with elbows and forearms in the corner, off the ropes for a shoulder thrust, Erik shoves him off and backs him into the corner with windmill punches of his own! Hip toss knee strike gets a deep two, off the ropes and Bob hits a thrust spinebuster! Gutwrench into the Yokosuka Cutter… NO GOOD!

Bobby Lashley wins by submission with the full nelson, which we’re informed is now called the Hurt Lock.

He has no idea why Aleister Black has it out for him now and offers up a number of mocking suggestions before saying he doesn’t care why, he only cares about how he’s going to inflict enough pain tonight to walk away from the ring feeling like they’re even and he runs back to his hiding spot, and most importantly, how is he going to make sure that the beating reminds him every day of what happens when you pick a fight with KO.

We see the ring crew setting up a steel cage, indie-style, to send us to break.

Back from commercial, Shane McMahon is chatting with the doorman to Raw Underground when Braun Strowman rolls up looking to cave “some poor son of a bitch’s” head in.

Someone knocks and he beckons them in, and it’s revealed to be Buddy Murphy. Rollins says he’s been waiting to see him all night and Buddy sputters about last week but Seth says he understands. Atonement and forgiveness are all part of the process, and that’s in the past, and now they have to look to the future.

Tonight he’s locked inside of a steel cage with Dominik Mysterio and it’s the perfect opportunity to teach the young man and the world a lesson. He asks Murphy if he’s prepared for his role tonight and he needs him to be ready. Buddy says he’s ready and Seth slaps him across the face and pushes him into the lockers before telling him his role is to stay back here so he doesn’t have to deal with any of his stupid mistakes again.

Dominik says he wants to follow his dreams and follow in his dad’s footsteps, so he can’t back down from any challenges. Rey says Dominik impressed him at SummerSlam, and they’re going to be out there to support him during the cage match tonight.

Circling, test of strength fakeout and Rollins starts throwing heavy axehandles and stomps! Whip across, duck a back elbow, tilt-a-whirl Russian legsweep, Mysterio climbs but Seth picks him off the cage! Tornado DDT from Dominik for two, he climbs but Buddy Murphy slips Rollins a kendo stick and he lights Mysterio up with it!

Back from commercial, Rollins scrapes Mysterio’s face against the steel and hits a body avalanche on him! Dominik fighting back, counters a powerbomb into a Frankensteiner that puts Seth into the steel! Mysterio’s got the kendo stick and he wails on Rollins with it! Throwing him into the steel again and again, thrust spinebuster… NOPE!

Seth with a double leg, catapult into the cage but Dom is ready and climbs the steel! Rollins joins him, jockeying for position and both guys end up crotched on the ropes! Mysterio crawling for the door but Murphy attacks Rey right in front of the open door! He slams the door but he mistimes it and nails Seth with the cage door!

Buddy climbs the cage wall to try and block Dominik but Mysterio knocks him down! Frog Splash… ROLLINS KICKS OUT! Climbing again, Seth cuts him off but can’t pull him down! Dom on top of the cage, Rollins picks him off… SUPERPLEX OFF THE TOP OF THE CAGE! FALCON ARROW! Mysterio with a schoolboy, Seth kicks out and capitalizes… BLACKOUT!

Post-match, Rollins confronts Buddy while Rey checks on his son. Seth seemingly forgives Murphy, kissing his forehead, but he turns him around and throws him into the cage, telling him to do what he tells him. He smashes the cage door on Buddy’s face! Rollins gets in Angie’s face and spooks her before leaving. Aliyah checks on Buddy before joining her family in the ring.

We toss to Raw Underground, where Dolph Ziggler is fighting a dude, struggling with him before eventually knocking him out with overhead elbows. Riddick Moss wants next and he and Dolph go at it back and forth until Braun Strowman hits the ring and knocks both guys to the floor. He hits a Rock Bottom on Moss and a Yokosuka Cutter on Ziggler and we go to break.

He chat about interfering in Keith Lee’s match last week until Keith Lee rolls up and waves Charly Caruso off. He says it sounds to him like he thinks Randy Orton would have won, but the only match that Drew didn’t interfere in was the one where he beat Orton, and furthermore he thinks he’s concerned that he might beat him tonight and then again at Clash of Champions.

Drew introduces himself facetiously and says he’s not afraid, but Lee points out the target on his jaw. McIntyre swats his hand away twice before punching him in the jaw on the third one! A brawl breaks out! Referees and road agents swarm them for a pull-apart!

We see Titus O’Neil force his way into Raw Underground and take Braun Strowman off his feet! The big men brawl, but Braun chokes Titus out!

Back from commercial, match in progress. Owens with a lariat, a senton, mounted punches! Whip across, up and over, catch the kick and Black trips him up. Forearms in the ropes, knee to the hamstring, inverted half-crab applied! KO gets out, into the corner, back body drop sends Al to the floor, off the ropes but he comes up lame and Black sweeps the leg!

Elbows to the injured knee, smashing it against the apron, back inside and stomping at the knee. Drawing him up, forearms, trapping the leg in the ropes for a kick to the injured knee! Leg pick, roll through, grapevined kneebar! Owens reaches and barely gets the ropes! Black stomping at the knee after the break, KO with a desperation superkick!

We go backstage and see Drew McIntyre and Keith Lee are still brawling as five-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion Adam Pearce breaks them up, threatening to cancel their match tonight and the WWE Championship match at Clash of Champions unless they stop it immediately.

Back from commercial, the Riott Squad get an inset promo where they talk about how they’re a real team, unlike Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler.

We go back to Raw Underground to see Braun Strowman beating the crap out of some poor schlub. Riddick Moss hits the ring again and is joined by Dolph Ziggler as they try to overwhelm the Monster to no avail. At long last Babatunde gets in to square up with Strowman but Shane McMahon intervenes to save the match for next week.

Lee charges in and rams McIntyre into the corner for shoulder thrusts! Whip across, boot up on the charge and Drew has right hands for him! Keith hits him in the jaw and knocks him to the floor to send us to break!

Back from commercial, Lee is in control, punching away at Drew’s jaw. McIntyre fires back with punches and chops, Keith hits him in the jaw again but the champ stays fighting. Whip reversed, off the ropes with a flying lariat, going for the belly-to-belly but Lee fights out with elbows! Drew hits the belly-to-belly suplex on the second try!

McIntyre with a diving lariat, both men down and out, the champion kips up! Fired up, underhooks, Keith blocks Future Shock but Drew hits the spinebuster into a jackknife pin… NOT ENOUGH! Off the ropes, Lee with a lariat for two, McIntyre hits a jawbreaker to cut the momentum and goes up top. Keith cuts him off with a headbutt to the jaw!

Jockeying for position in the turnbuckles… KEITH LEE SUPERPLEX! Sick Kick blocked, Spirit Bomb countered, malfunction at the junction, double crossbody! Retribution surrounds the ring, slapping the apron like they’re at a Beyond show before attacking!

They beat Drew and Keith down at length before the Hurt Business come to the stage. A big ol’ brawl breaks out and somehow Lee and McIntyre are the only ones left standing at the end of it.
