The Baggies restored their lead in the 54th minute of the much-anticipated and long-awaited Black Country Derby between West Brom and Wolves this afternoon.
Sam Allardyce’s team scored in the first half made an early start against his beloved team, but Albion’s shaky defense collapsed and they went 2-1 into halftime.
Center-back Semi Ajayi made up for his suffering in the Wolves second goal and equalized in the 52nd minute . This season he showed his skills in the air again.
Then, less than two minutes later, Michael Oliver pointed again after Conor Coady Callum Robinson seemed to trip with pretty little contact.
It was a repeat of the formula that triggered Albion’s first goal, Robinson won the penalty and Matheus Pereira stepped forward from 12 yards.
The playmaker showed he had overcome the costly penalty shoot-out mistake against Blackpool in the FA Cup, and made this clear when he sent Rui Patricio in the wrong direction for the second time.
Pereira shot the ball into the lower right corner after previously targeting the opposite corner.
