World News – USA – Recruitment: USC Reaches Top 10 Early for 2022 4-Star Michigan ATH

The 2022 four-star athlete Dillon Tatum of West Bloomfield (MI) added the Trojans to his early top 10 list on Friday. USC was joined by Ohio State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nebraska, Michigan State, Michigan, Penn State, and Baylor.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound tatum is No.. 246 overall prospects in class and No.. 12 athletes according to the 247Sports Composite. He is the No.. 221 recruits in the 247Sports ranking. Michigan State and Michigan are the only schools rated warm for Tatum. The Trojans only offered nine athletes in the 2022 class.

The Michigan native has cut out schools like Florida, the state of Arizona, Indiana, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Maryland, Syracuse, Georgia Tech, and Cincinnati.

Tatum played both offensively and defensively in his second and second seasons. Several schools have offered Tatum as an athlete and one project he will play on the defensive side on the ball. In particular, he played running back, slot, defensive back and return kicks last season. USC made an offer to Tatum in late July.

Tatum feels a lot like four-star USC cornerback signer Prophet Brown from 2021 Elk Grove, who was listed as an athlete but was primarily recruited as a running back by most schools. The Trojans advanced late in order to win the NorCal prospect’s engagement.

The Trojans stand a better chance of recruiting Tatum as a defensive player, given the difficulty of recruiting running backs and the team’s inconsistent run play. USC signed the four-star Katy (TX), who returned Brandon Campbell in the 2021 class, but also lost Markese Stepp to the NCAA Transfer Portal.

USC Class 2022 is currently No.. 1 rated. 9. in the nation with engagements from four-star center-back Niuafe Tuihalamaka, three-star QB Devin Brown of Arizona and three-star Rancho Verde OC Dylan Lopez. The trojan class 2021 is currently the No.. 14 in the nation and No.. 2 in the Pac-12.
