World News – USA – Orange County, Southern California is likely to come in regional order for staying at home

. . The region's intensive capacity fell to 13. 1%, which triggers the regional lockdown that will last at least three weeks.

. .

Orange County and all of Southern California received a message late Friday, December. 4 that its decreasing ICU capacity is likely to put the region in the most restrictive home-stay order since March.

The move could, by order of the state, prohibit private gatherings of any size, require public masks and close down lesser businesses.

Gov. . Gavin Newsom said Thursday the state was on the verge of a serious shortage of ICU beds and that any of the five regions in California that fell below 15% ICU bed availability would trigger a new lockdown for themselves for at least three weeks.

Region 5, which includes Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and several other counties in Southern California, dropped to 13. 1% capacity on intensive care beds.

The new status order will take effect at 12:59 p.m.. m. Saturday, giving local health authorities 24 hours to enforce regional home-stay restrictions, which means Southern California has until Sunday afternoon to put them in place.

The order adds new restrictions to the corporate and public sector policy kaleidoscope, again closing hair salons, playgrounds and museums, and forcing restaurants to rely on takeaway and delivery orders.

Retailers need to cut indoor access to 20%, even though many have already had quarter or half capacity indoors, according to purple tier rules. Schools that already teach in person can continue to do so.

During a press conference on Thursday, Newsom said Hammer could fall into worst regions in a matter of days.

State health officials said Friday that regional ICU capacity numbers would be posted daily, and the day’s update would be posted on the state’s COVID-19 website late in the evening.

California Department of Health officials didn’t respond to questions on Friday about when the next update would come, but a spokesman said state officials would notify local health officials directly if their area falls below the 15% ICU threshold.

Dr. . Clayton Chau, director of Orange County’s health department and county health officer, made no public announcement on Friday.

As of Thursday, the group had 11 counties in southern California, including coastal and inland areas as far as Mono in the north and San Diego in the south, for a total of 20. 6% of the beds in the intensive care unit are available.

The Northern California region, including Counties Humboldt and Shasta, was closest to the red line at 6 p.m. Thursday. 6% capacity in the intensive care unit.

A group of counties in the Bay Area took no chances on Friday, announcing that by order of the state government, they would immediately abide by the residence restrictions.

Orange County ICU capacity increased from 17% on Thursday to 20% on Friday. This is an indication that the county hospitals are messing up staff and are quickly reactivating pandemic battle plans and converting other parts of their facilities into critical care areas.

As of Thursday, 195 COVID-19 patients were occupying intensive care beds in Orange County’s 33 hospitals, according to state health data. Two months ago it was around 50. The district reached on 15. July peaked 245 coronavirus intensive care patients during the summer surge.

The total number of coronavirus hospital stays rose to 746 by Friday, breaking another record. The county’s health department reported 17 more deaths.

The latest shutdown plans are temporarily replacing the state’s four-tier tracking system that has been in use since August to track key coronavirus metrics like fall rates and determine what to and shouldn’t open.

By Tuesday, the county was at 22. 2 new coronavirus cases per day and 100. 000 inhabitants, more than three times the rate a month ago. Test positivity – the percentage of swab tests that smeared positive – reached 8. 8%, although the mid-July prices have not yet been reached.
