World News – USA – Garth Brooks chokes and has to restart the performance during the live vacation special

During the Garth and Trisha Live! At a holiday concert on CBS Sunday evening, viewers could use the hashtag #GarthandTrishaLIVE to request songs on social media throughout the night.

After many viewers began soliciting Garth Brooks’ Christmas classic « Belleau Wood, » a song the country singer co-wrote and released in the 1990s, about events that took place on the front lines during the Christmas season of World War I. Trisha Yearwood said to her husband: « Good luck, mate. This one makes me cry and I never cry. « 

Before the performance, Brooks announced that he usually does an abbreviated version of the song. However, on Sunday he insisted on singing the full version, which made it even harder for him to get through to the end.

Home viewers also got emotional during the performance, as the heartfelt song discussing the heartbreaking cost of war but highlighting both triumph and tragedy as adversaries find peace and unity, a perfect reminder of hope was during this holiday season.
