World News – USA – After much speculation, UCF Knight’s McKenzie Milton won’t play against USF

. .

TAMPA, Fla. – There was speculation ahead of the Knight’s rivalry game against the University of South Florida that it could also mark the expected comeback for University of Central Florida quarterback McKenzie Milton, but fans will have to keep waiting.

No.. 10 Milton stepped out on Friday afternoon at Raymond James Stadium to warm up but didn’t wear pads like the other quarterbacks. Before 15:30 p. m. Kick-off, sources confirmed to the game by News 6 sporting director Jamie Seh on Friday won’t let Milton come back.

If UCF has the edge, it will be their fourth straight win against the Bulls and even the I-4 rivalry on 6-6.

Milton, a senior majoring in exercise and exercise science, returned to the practice in August with the approval of his doctors.

In response to why he wasn’t eligible for the game, Milton said in a statement that he « didn’t see the point of going out today for sensual reasons, » adding, « I don’t want to get out there up to Play 100 percent and at a high level. So there is no rush for me to be back in the field. ”

Milton said he plans to return when he’s 100% but he hasn’t been there as of Friday.

After a gruesome injury during the game « War on I-4 » nearly two years ago, many have wondered if Milton would ever play again, but the Redshirt senior has made progress towards his goal of taking the field again conquer.

Milton was carted off the field in November. 23, 2018, with a dislocated right knee after being attacked during a game against South Florida.

« I definitely knew something was bad right away, » Milton told News 6 in 2019, a few months after the injury. « I’m just grateful that USF’s coach was the first one out there. This is our competitive school, but he knew something was bad. ”

He was taken to the hospital where doctors were working to save his leg. Milton had several surgeries to repair damaged nerves and restore blood flow to his lower leg before embarking on extensive rehabilitation.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Milton announced that he woke up in July with knee pain and was unable to walk. He had to undergo surgery immediately because of an infection, ESPN reports.

During his recovery, he said his goal was to play again by 2020. During an interview in March, he said playing this year was a 50/50 shot.

However, Milton told News 6 that he was confident he would play at Bounce House again.

« When that moment comes, and I definitely think it will be, I’ll let it go, » Milton said in May. « But after that, it’s time to roll. ”

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, this season will not be considered for eligibility for college football players. Milton could play another year for UCF if he wanted.
