Despite playing their third game in four nights, the Golden State Warriors looked fresh in their 137-106 win over the Sacramento Kings.
The Dubs swarmed the kings on the defensive, keeping Sacramento down to just 33. 3% shot in the first half and were between 68 and 48 during the break.
Stephen Curry led the offensive again. He had 23 points in the first two quarters and ended on a team high of 30 points. Golden State brought production up and down, with six players getting double-digit results.
The Dubs never failed in this game and as they win they improve to 4-3 over the course of the season.
Although they played their second game over as many nights, the Warriors competed like gangbusters against a dormant Kings team. Golden State started 21-7 to start the game. By the first quarter it was up 17 and dominated Sacramento on the defensive.
The Kings flipped the ball six times in the first 12 minutes, resulting in some easy transition buckets for the Warriors.
The shortened schedule will ultimately take a toll on teams playing back-to-back, but you can use Curry and Co.. say nothing. were in the square on Sunday evening.
The former Defensive Player of the Year only played 21 minutes in the blowout, but his stats line was similar to Draymond’s during the dominant run of the Dubs. Green ended up with five points, five rebounds, five assists and two steals. His defense is his forte, but he showed that he is the mediator we’re used to seeing.
Green found James Wiseman and Kelly Oubre Jr. . on separate games that ended with baskets. During the two sequences you can fully see his vision and skills as a passerby:
Green only gets better as the season progresses. He missed a lot of training camps after testing positive for the coronavirus, which hampered his conditioning. As he gets more game action, his numbers will improve.
The rookie continues to impress early in his NBA career. Wiseman finished with 10 points, four rebounds and two blocks in just 17 minutes. Even if his numbers aren’t flashy, it’s the pieces he makes that show his potential.
Wiseman has to improve his position on the defensive, but does not take down any games. Despite being called in for a foul, watch him stay in this defensive possession with Marvin Bagley III:
In the offensive, the athletic performance of the 19-year-old is clearly visible. He walks the floor like a security guard, and his Inspector Gadget arms allow him to dip any rags that get in his way:
It will be fun to see how he develops. With a little more spice, Wiseman quickly becomes one of the best big men in the NBA.
