DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) – Iowa Republican Representative Mariannette Miller-Meeks is calling on Congress to resolve a complaint made by Democrat Rita Hart challenging her victory in the Iowa Congressional 2nd District Race « To follow » and reject them.
Miller-Meeks won one of the nation’s closest home races in more than a decade by six votes.
Hart filed a petition late last month in which he ruled the US – House of Representatives asked to weigh the race.
Hart alleges that at least 22 legally cast ballots were incorrectly not counted during the original acquisition.
An attorney representing Miller-Meeks alleged that Hart had the matter not prosecuted in the Iowa courts, as was the precedent in Congress.
Miller-Meeks’ attorney filed a motion with the US House today on these arguments asking for the election to stand.
