Food Network host Alton Brown was criticized this week for a pair of now-deleted tweets that described himself as a Republican and appeared to shine a light on the Holocaust.

“I’ve voted Republicans most of my life,” Mr. Brown wrote in a deleted tweet Monday night “I consider myself a conservative I want to believe there are still“ very good ”people on either side of the aisle but If the #GOP leaders don’t extract their collective noses from that guy’s back, we get the words «

While Mr. Brown’s tweet was later deleted and made no apology or retraction indicating that his feelings had changed in 2016, the New York Times reported that he is « a private and politically conservative Southern who sometimes carries the Bible and a firearm. »

Mr. Brown faced a second wave of backlash Tuesday night after he asked 45 million Twitter followers in a tweet that has since been deleted: « Do you think the camp uniform will be striped, like the outfit in Auschwitz, or will it be trendy? »

“I don’t have gold fillings,” Mr. Ward Brown said in a tweet that was still active on his account.

“I apologize for the flimsy reference I made about the Holocaust in my tweet last night,“ Mr. Brown tweeted Wednesday morning ”was not a reference for me to the humor effect but rather reflects how deeply I am afraid of our country It was a very poor use of judgment and bad taste.
