House and Senate legislators passed a one-day government spending bill before voting on a large coronavirus spending package that both houses want to approve Monday.

The leaders of Congress announced Sunday night that the two parties had reached an agreement on a $ 900 billion virus relief package that includes new stimulus measures, improved unemployment benefits, small business loans and other relief efforts, designed to help the nation deal with the effects of pandemics and a recent round of surges and economic deadlocks.

Legislators are planning to bundle the virus aid package with the fiscal year 2021 expenses, which expire at midnight on Sunday.

The House and Senate will pass the one-day state funding measure on Sunday evening and Monday.
