Gavin & Ruth Jones, co-creator of Stacey, has stated that she and James Corden have no plans to write more episodes

Ruth Jones has dashed fans’ hopes that she and James Corden would write more Gavin & Stacey episodes.

The Welsh actress told Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford this morning that there are no more plans to write after last year’s Christmas special left us on a large cliffhanger.

Ruth’s Nessa had just put the question to James’ Smithy and the credits were broadcasting before we got an answer.

And despite requests for responses from fans, Rut confirmed today that there are « no plans to write more to Gavin & Stacey. « 

This announcement comes despite the recent insistence on the BBC that the hit comedy make a comeback one day. « 

Charlotte Moore, chief content officer, said that while a 2020 episode was never planned, it could make a comeback later.

The original series ended in 2009 after three series and returned 10 years later with the Christmas special.
