Josh Kelly eventually faces David Avanesyan in a European title bout when their welterweight rivals come on Jan.. January settle their long-standing feud live on Sky Sports.
The Sunderland fighter was originally scheduled to fight Avanesyan in Sheffield in December 2018, but illness forced Kelly to retire the morning of the fight.
Avanesyan and his team have put their frustration behind a scheduled fight in March 2020 at The O2 in London, which was again canceled due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Kelly will now challenge the European champions next month with a venue yet to be confirmed.
« This fight has been going on and it’s finally time to silence my doubters, » said Kelly.
