Cat Deeley was a constant television presence growing up. From presenting Stars In Their Eyes to her time at the Fame Academy, not to mention her rock and roll gig as the British host in 2004. She is TV queen. This Christmas she’s stepping up the nostalgia alongside Ant and Dec with a stroll down SM: TV Live Memory Lane, nearly two decades after it aired. The successful Saturday morning kids TV show seems like a lifetime ago and a lot has changed since then. Is Cat Deeley Married Now?
Yes, she has moved in the US for the past 20 years, wrote a book and started a family with her husband, comedian Patrick Kielty. Deeley met Kielty when they co-presented the BBC talent show Fame Academy in 2002. However, it was years before they became a couple.
In 2006 Deeley moved to the U. . S.. . So You Think You Can Dance while Kielty was primarily based in the UK. The couple stayed in touch, however, and began dating years later when Kielty took it upon themselves to make a bold gesture. It was Deeley’s birthday and as a joke she took him out for lunch thinking he wouldn’t make it since he was in Belfast and she was in LA. He told Loose Women, “I got up at five, flew from Ireland at six, and got to Heathrow at seven. Then he jumped on a twenty to ten flight, got on at a quarter past one, and went to the Beverly Hills Hotel. I said hello and she fell off the chair and we’ve been together ever since. «
Deeley recounted the moment he ripped off Jessie and Lennie Ware on their November table manners podcast – and it really sounded like something out of a Richard Curtis movie. After years of friendship and just a few months of dating, the couple married in 2012.
You have settled in the U.. S.. . and had two sons, Milo and James, before returning to the UK earlier this year. In September Deeley published her first novel, The Joy In You, which she said Bustle was “a love letter to her boys. « You may not have been there to watch SM: TV Live when it first aired, but Milo and James will see their mom remember the show in the Boxing Day reunion special.
The Story of SM: TV Live features Deeley, Ant, and Dec looking back at the very first episode, the studios they were filmed in, and the most memorable and amusing moments from over 270 episodes (which first aired) in 1998 and the last show went out in 2003). Talking about reuniting with her co-hosts to film the special, Deeley said to Lorraine, “We sat on the couch together and immediately the chemistry was still there. We made each other laugh and made each other cry. ”
Earlier this year, she also remembered Bustle. « We’d finish filming on a Saturday, and every single person working on SM: TV Live went to a bar and stayed for the rest of the afternoon. We knew just enough to get by, but we were naive enough, too, ”she told us.
