ALEX SCOTT is hosting the 2020 BBC Sports Personality Awards ceremony this weekend.

Scott received a standing ovation on the Emirates square after announcing her resignation at Arsene Wenger’s farewell party after the men’s final home game.

During her career, she has won eight championship titles, three WSL Cups and seven FA Cups, one Champions League and two Community Shields.

Scott made her national team debut in 2004, where she became England’s second highest player, winning silver and bronze medals at Euro 2009 and the 2015 World Cup.

She was named on the UK’s 18-player squad for the London 2012 Olympics and received an MBE on the 2017 New Years Honor Roll for her contributions to football.

« Now, more than ever, it will be amazing to stand up for those who stood out in their field this year, » she said.

« As well as highlighting the unsung heroes who made a positive difference in 2020, despite the fact that the year has been a challenge for so many. «

Outside of her active career, Alex is also a television presenter and an expert on the BBC and Sky.

Scott retired from football towards the end of the 2017 season to focus on her burgeoning broadcasting career.

She appears regularly on BBC’s Bottom Line and presents Sky’s Goals on Sunday with Chris Kamara. In 2016, she presented and won the Bear Grylls TV show Mission Survive.

Media aside, she founded the Alex Scott Academy in 2011 for female soccer players aged 16-19.

Scott became Sky Sports’ first expert in 2018 after her time on the BBC team at the World Cup in the summer of 2018.
