Wild weather is expected to hit northern and eastern Tasmania in the next 24 hours, with heavy rain and high winds expected

« We have a low pressure system from Victoria moving near King Island tomorrow [bringing] a lot of rain, especially in the north and east, as this low becomes almost stationary near the north corner -West of Tasmania « 

She said the north and east could expect between 30-60mm, with 10-12mm elsewhere and high drops of around 80-90mm in parts of the northwest and northeast

Several flood warnings have already been issued for rivers around the state, and Ms Tabor said she expected more

The office warned that there is a risk of flash floods and flash floods, as soils and watersheds were already very wet in much of the north of the state

Strong winds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour are also expected tomorrow, with gusts of 100 km / h
