GEELONG superstar Patrick Dangerfield, captain of the AFL All-Australian 2020, received the prestigious honor of leading a squad that includes 12 members for the first time
Dangerfield became only the sixth player in history to be named to eight All-Australian teams on Thursday night, marking the historic occasion with his selection as captain for the first time in his career
Port Adelaide veteran Travis Boak has been named vice-captain, with Power among four clubs – along with Geelong, West Coast and the Western Bulldogs – to have three tied players each selected for the squad

Notable absent from Tuesday’s 40-man squad include reigning medal winner Brownlow Nat Fyfe, Port Adelaide captain Tom Jonas, Richmond front row players Dylan Grimes and Nick Vlastuin and the small attacking duo Tom Papley and Dan Butler
But the evening belonged to Dangerfield, who joined an elite company including Gary Ablett snr, Gary Ablett jnr, Lance Franklin, Robert Harvey and Mark Ricciuto by being selected for eight separate teams in Australia.
Named vice-captain in 2018, Dangerfield now has a captain’s blazer to add to his collection, honored for a season where he finished in the League’s Top 10 in assists, contested possessions, score and meters gained with a half-front place
