Ireland will start their 2023 World Cup against Europe Qualifier 2, most likely Russia, in Bordeaux on September 9th.
Andy Farrell’s men will travel to Nantes on September 16 to experience the Asia-Pacific region 1, either Samoa or Tonga.
These two opening games should allow Ireland to start a positive tournament before the standards of their opponents rise significantly.
Ireland will face defending champions South Africa at the Stade de France which promises a battle of the titans in the capital on September 23rd.

Ireland will stay in Paris for their final pool game against Scotland on October 7th. Should they reach the quarter-finals, Farrell’s team would play their last eight-round, regardless of whether they finished first or second in the pool, at the Stade de France for the third time in a row.
This is easier said, however than done as South Africa will be extremely hard to beat while Scotland is improving rapidly.
“As I said at the time of the draw, being in the same pool as Ireland and Scotland will be a big challenge, but to win the tournament you have to be able to beat all the teams and we are properly tested the pool phases, « said Springboks’ coach Jacques Nienaber.
