Stephanie Goddu, a 35-year-old woman from Manchester, New Hampshire, was arrested on Friday January 8th on charges of compromising the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. The Manchester Police Department press release on Facebook following her arrest stated that Goddu initially barricaded himself in her home when the police arrived. The statement said: At around 6 p.m. on January 8, 2021, Manchester police arrested Stephanie Goddu, 35, accusing her of endangering a child’s welfare. Goddu was wanted in connection with two incidents involving her children. She was in her residence in Manchester. Goddu didn’t stick to the officers at first ???? orders to surrender and barricades herself in her apartment. After a short time, Goddu came out and was taken into custody. “The investigation into Goddu reportedly began on January 6, 2021 after police discovered that Goddu’s two children had not been selected from the daycare at Southern NH Services. When the daycare workers were unable to contact Goddu, they contacted the police. The police were informed that she also had a three-month-old baby with her. When she reached Goddu’s apartment to check on her and the child, police said she appeared « incoherent and disoriented ». and even struggled to answer her questions. The baby was found to be strapped to a child seat and wearing extremely warm clothing and a blanket. A couple of months ago, a couple from Fairfield, California, were charged after police officers found 10 children living in their home amid feces, rubbish and torture. An investigation opened after police found a missing boy from the house on the 2200 block of Fieldstone Court in Fairfield. According to an official statement, upon arrival at the couple’s home, they found that nine of their ten children were living in « unsafe and unsanitary » conditions. The children were between 4 months and 11 years old. Officials described the condition of the house and said the place was littered with human and animal feces, urine, garbage and rotten food. They added that piles of debris had blocked certain parts of the house and the children were emotionally and physically abused.
