World news – The Eagles’ Carson Wentz trade offers become « aggressive ».

The Eagles have received « aggressive offers » on Wentz, ESPN reported Friday, two days after Adam Schefter said the quarterback « wants to leave the franchise » even after hiring a new head coach in Nick Sirianni.

Wentz lost his starting job late in the season after losing a game. Doug Pederson turned to rookie Jalen Hurts for the last four games. This led to reports of a damaged relationship between Wentz and Pederson, with Wentz expected to file a trade after the season. Since then, the Eagles have fired Pederson and hired Sirianni, but Wentz hasn’t been heard publicly and his feelings reportedly haven’t changed.

« I spoke to an NFL source, not the Eagles who hears that one Wentz trade is close, « tweeted Les Bown of the Philadelphia Inquirer on Friday. « This is not firsthand information. I feel like the longer we go without Wentz saying something like, » I’m happy to be an eagle and excited to play for Nick Sirianni, the closer we get.  » . «

The NFL Network also reported Thursday that teams began calling the Eagles about a Wentz trade.

The 28-year-old Wentz owes $ 25.4 million in 2021 under a $ 128 million four-year extension that he signed in 2019. If the Eagles trade him, they would be charged $ 33.8 million in Dead Cap this year.

« They’ll listen, » Schefter said on Wednesday at 97.5 The Fanatic in Philadelphia. “Absolutely listen. And when a team makes the right offer, a deal is made.

« But if a team doesn’t make the right offer, they’re open to bringing him back and letting him compete at camp with Jalen Hurts. » For me it could go either way … Just because he wants to be moved doesn’t mean he will be. If I had to guess, I’d guess he’s being traded … But again, they don’t want to get rid of him. You are not. «
