Syracuse postponed three games on Friday after a three-week program hiatus because a positive COVID-19 test in SU’s program postponed two.

# 24 Syracuse (5-1, 2-1 Atlantic Coast) receives Louisville No. 2 (11-0, 4-0 ACC) on Thursday at 9 p.m. instead of February 1. The Orange and Cardinals played three times last season, with Louisville winning two of the matchups. Next week’s game will be SU’s first against a senior opponent this season.

The Syracuse game against Notre Dame, originally scheduled for January 10th but postponed after the positive test in the program , has been moved to the Dome for January 31st. The SU matchup against Georgia Tech – originally scheduled for January 14th – is now scheduled for February 2nd.

Syracuse’s postponed game against Virginia on January 7th will not be rescheduled after the Cavaliers have finished the rest of their season on Canceled Thursday. At the ACC, both Duke and Virginia have canceled their seasons due to COVID-19 concerns. On Orange’s current schedule, they have no more than three consecutive days off for the remainder of the regular season.

SU’s last game before break was an 83-70 win over Boston College on December 20. Syracuse is restarting its schedule on Sunday in its second game of the season against Miami (6-4, 3-4 ACC). When SU first took on the Hurricanes, head coach Quentin Hillsman’s team won 69-58 at the Watsco Center.

« It probably doesn’t matter whether we’re ready or not, because time is ticking, right?  » Hillsman said if his team was ready to play Miami after the break. “We have to play this game. But I think it’s good that we are playing an opponent that we have already played so that they are familiar with us and vice versa. Hopefully this can help us a bit with game prep. “
