Dave Farrar predicts another encounter with many goals at the Olimpico, while Inter may find it more difficult than at home in Genoa expected finds …

« The Roma have won five of their last seven games in all competitions and will have the opportunity on Sunday evening to give Milan’s dwindling title hopes a hammer blow. »

I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw that Parma had won 2-0 against Udinese last weekend and although that cost us our bet, the fact that Udinese hit back late to get a draw turned out to be a point for Parma. They are extremely scaly.

Spezia have become kind of a team that always seem to play better than the results suggest and while this can be an unhealthy habit, recent wins against Sassuolo and Milan suggest they are closer of constancy as they are.

Parma are now without a win in 14 league games, which is an amazing number, and their form needs a D’Aversa reversal if they are to stand a chance of survival.

For a team that won two out of three at home and last won against Milan, 2.526 / 4 is a huge price to pay for a Spezia win, and that’s the best bet of the week.

The Roma have won five of their last seven games in all competitions and will have the opportunity on Sunday night to give Milan’s dwindling title hopes a hammer blow. Stefano Pioli’s side are badly wounded and this seems like a game not to be lost.

Milan have now only won two of their last eight in all competitions, and with the top of the Serie A table filled, they could be 6th or 7th in a month if they don’t stop the bleeding can.

You have to think very carefully before entrusting your money to the Roma. This is a team that does great against the lesser lights of the league and then becomes insignificant when they play against a member of the elite. That was certainly the case this season when Roma’s defeats came in Naples, Bergamo, here against Lazio and then in Turin.

At home there was a little more success against the bigger teams as Roma drew 2-2 against Juve and Inter here, and I expect something similar from this game. This is the team with the best home record in Serie A against the team that is most effective away from home and looks very even.

I was very close to betting Roma with 2.47 / 5, but they’ve let me down once too many times this season, so I’ll be back through previous games here against their big batsman and 3 : Think 3-draws in the season reverse and tip over 3.5 goals in this one at a generous looking 2.68 / 5.

Inter took control of the title race with their impressive performance against Milan last week and now they have the opportunity to take that advantage home against Genoa, knowing that runner-up Milan and fourth-placed Roma are on Compete against each other on Sunday evening. Juventus are predictably Inter’s most likely challenger.

Inter should win, of course, at a cost of 1.222 / 9. Anyone who has watched Genoa’s resurgence in 2021 will know that it will be harder for the Nerazzurri than an occasional league observer could imagine.

Davide Ballardini lost just one of his ten Serie A games in his last tenure as Genoa coach, including a win against Napoli and a draw against Lazio and Atalanta. And they made it extremely difficult to beat. They could have drawn their last two draws, for example, but the way they equalized in the 95th minute against Verona last time showed how far they have come.

And even under the previous regime, Genoa was rarely beaten up and did well on defensive bases. The only time they have been beaten by more than two goals this season was against Napoli in week 2. A goal line that even Gennaro Gattuso admitted was extremely flattering for his team.

I think Inter are the most likely winners, if a little short at 1.222 / 9, but I think Genoa with a two-goal start at the Asian Handicap is the bet. Ballardini will enjoy the chance to show what a good coach he is and Antonio Conte and his team will have a tough time.
