Five workers at a fishery in southwest Sydney were charged after allegedly mistakenly downgrading $ 4 million in high quality salmon as waste and then stealing the transport for sale elsewhere.
Police say that Quintett wrongly downgraded an average of 600 kg of salmon as waste every day, then removed the fish from the plant and sold it privately.
Around 250 tons of salmon are said to have been stolen from the Ingleburn plant between June and December 2020.
Two women were involved in theft offenses on December 20, followed by three men on December 23.
Two of the men were released on bail to appear in the local court in Campbelltown on Monday, while the other three were people will appear in court in February.
