World news – Phoebe Bridgers hires Jackson Browne for the new version of ‘Kyoto’ and shares the cover of John Prine’s ‘Summer’s End’ – Our Culture

Phoebe Bridgers shared two new tracks as part of the Spotify Singles series. The first offering is a new version of the Punisher single « Kyoto » with Jackson Browne as backing vocals. The second is a cover of John Prine’s « Summer’s End, » where she is accompanied by Maria Taylor. Listen to both songs below.

This isn’t the first time Bridgers and Browne have worked together. The couple teamed up for a cover of “Christmas Song” in 2018 and recently sang “Kyoto” at the US Benefit Concert 2021 at the Tibet House. Last year Bridgers also shared a solo acoustic rendition of « Summer’s End » for Sirius XMU.

Phoebe Bridgers is nominated for four Grammys this year including Best New Artist, Best Alternative Album (for Punisher) and Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance (both for Kyoto). The awards ceremony will take place this Sunday, March 14th at 8 p.m. EST.
