A pair of police officers lost control of their horses in Brooklyn on Thursday afternoon, police said.
The chase took place shortly before 12:30 p.m. When officers climbed off their saddles because of a minor medical problem while driving in Midwood, police said.
Somewhat startled the stallions – Samson and Freedom – and police said they started near E. 8th Street and Quentin Road.
The police caught up with the horses and were back in theirs in the early afternoon Police vehicle, the police said.
The officer who had a medical problem was taken to a nearby hospital and should be okay, according to police.
In a tweet, the NYPD commented on the incident: « Stop jumping around for these two. »
« You may have seen @NYPDSpecialOps mounted horses before. Samson & Freedom roamed the streets of Brooklyn today. Fortunately, the officers are fine. &, the horses are back in the stable, ”tweeted the department.
