(Reuters) – The NBA suspended Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley for 12 games on Thursday without getting paid for guilty of pleading guilty of threatening a family with a gun.

During Beasley’s three-year probationary period, he is banned from possessing a firearm, drinking alcohol, and using illegal drugs. He must also complete anger management and pay a $ 3,000 fine. Compliance with these conditions will result in a conviction of a crime becoming a misdemeanor.

Police found three firearms, including an assault rifle, and more than 42.5 grams of green marijuana, prosecutors said. Marijuana in this form is illegal in the state.

Beasley’s sentence is expected to begin May 26, depending on the end of the NBA season due to potential disruption from COVID-19.
