A 40-year-old man from the River Ranch has died after falling overboard a ship in Rosslyn Bay on Saturday night.

A search and rescue operation began involving the Water Police, Yeppoon Coast Guard and RACQ Capricorn Rescue.

Rescue 300 conducted multiple passes over the Rosslyn Bay and Wreck Point areas in search of the missing man.

Shortly after 1 a.m., a body was found on the rocks by Rescue 300 while searching the beach area between these two points.
