Local soccer star Daine Laurie’s future was confirmed when the West Tigers confirmed he will join the club a year earlier than planned this season.
After Laurie originally signed a contract with the club for the NRL -Signed 2022 and 2023 seasons, he will now join his new club at the start of the 2021 NRL season and extend his contract to three years.
Laurie made his NRL debut with the Penrith Panthers in the 2020 season , however, was initially reported as unpublished after his news of the connection with the Tigers.
His future was uncertain when the Panthers removed his biography from their website late last year.
Justin Pascoe, CEO of Wests Tigers, welcomed Laurie to the club after previously calling him one of the best young full-backs in the game.

Laurie, Grafton Ghosts junior who excelled in the junior ranks, was Penrith’s Jersey Flegg Player of the Year with the Panthers u20. 23 attempts in two seasons.
Laurie will be joining his new Wests Tigers teammates as the squad heads to Tamworth today as part of their preparations for 2021.
