Kentucky has owned Missouri and goes 13-1 against the Tigers. But the Wildcats never finished either of those matchups with a 5-10 record after pausing due to virus concerns, as they did in Columbia, MO on Wednesday.
Kentucky has been unable to consistently play to maintain on guard position. This is reflected in the fact that the team shoots 29 percent from the 3-point range and thus ranks 313 among the teams in Division I. The Wildcats also ranked 280th in sales per possession.
Missouri had its own problems with outside shooting and was 299th in 3-point shooting odds. But the Tigers make up for it by reaching the free-throw line and finishing 16th in the country in free-throw attempts per offensive game. Five Tigers (Xavier Pinson, Dru Smith, Mark Smith, Javon Pickett and Mitchell Smith) shoot free throws with 81.3 percent or better.
Kentucky ranks 248th in the country in terms of points scored per possession, and also offers tons of second defense chances. In the defensive rebound rate, Kentucky ranks 267th, while Missouri rebounds 29 percent of its missed shots.
The Wildcats lack a floor general, who ranks 297th in assist to turnover, and with the five-star -Recruits Terrence Clarke, « a few games away from his return », Wednesday will be another tough night for Kentucky.
