US President Joe Biden said his great grandfather was forced to leave Ireland on a « coffin ship » during his first official press conference since taking office.
Mr Biden, the family member Has ties in Louth and Mayo, made the comment when asked about US immigration policy issues and the plight of migrants on the US-Mexico border.

He Also revealed that the US has a new vaccination target. Back in December last year, Mr Biden wanted to provide 100 million doses of the Covid-19 vaccine in the first 100 days of his presidency.
Having recently achieved that target before Having reached day 60, he has now said that they have set a new goal of 200 million doses within the first 100 days.
