The RO-PAX terminal at Banhajira will be inaugurated at a cost of Rs 25 crore. Its length is 100 meters and width is 40 meters. 25 crore rupees have been spent in making it. The terminal has facilities like parking, administration building, substation and water tower.
Decks can carry 30 trucks. The Roax-Pax Ferry Vessel is a three-deck vessel. It can carry 30 trucks in man deck. At the same time, the middle deck can carry 100 cars while the top 500 passengers and 34 crew members can ride. Other facilities are also available in the passenger deck. The Hazira-Ghogha Ro-Packs service will also have several broad benefits.
About 5 lakh passengers will travel annually. The Ferry will make three rounds a day. With this, around 5 lakh passengers will travel annually. At the same time, about 80 thousand passenger vehicles, 50 thousand two wheelers and 30 thousand trucks will also be taken. This will reduce the fatigue of truck drivers and increase the income by taking additional trips. This will reduce CO2 emissions by a net savings of about 24 metric tons per day and about 8653 metric tons per year.
