(Alliance News) – Ilika PLC announced Tuesday that it is partnering with Comau, part of automaker Stellantis NV, to expand the existing Goliath pre-pilot line.

The project led by solid-state battery technology company Ilika has two goals. The first is to scale up Ilika’s existing Goliath pre-pilot line to increase solid-state cell production from 1 kilowatt hour per week to 10 kilowatt hour per week.

Second, Comau will conduct a full process study at Ilika and provide a plant design for a megawatt-scale solid state manufacturing line for final installation at the UK’s Battery Industrialization Center.

« These scale-up activities in of manufacturing are running in parallel with Ilika’s solid-state technology developments in Goliath to ensure that Ilika can get its batteries to global market inexpensively and in the shortest possible time, « said the company.

The design study is being carried out by the Advanced Propulsion Center – one in UK based non-profit promoting low carbon transportation – supported. Ilika is receiving a £ 235,000 grant for the associated costs as part of the 12 month project.

« This project is an important step in scaling our Goliath technology and is an exciting opportunity to work with Comau, a of the world’s leading designers of innovative technical solutions. We are a strong team ideally positioned to deliver a strong manufacturing capacity for Goliath solid state batteries, « said Managing Director Graeme Purdy.

The Morningstar Star Rating for stocks is based on the An analyst’s estimate of the fair value of stocks. It is projection / opinion and not a statement of fact. Morningstar awards star ratings based on an analyst’s estimate of the fair value of a stock. Four components determine the star rating: (1) our assessment of the company’s economic moat, (2) our assessment of the fair value of the share, (3) our uncertainty regarding this assessment of the fair value and (4) the current market price. This process culminates in a single point star rating that is updated daily. A 5-star hotel stands for the conviction that the share has a good value at the current price. It is not a 1-star share. If our basic assumptions are correct, the market price will converge over time, usually within three years, with our fair value estimate. Investments in securities are subject to market and other risks. Past performance of a security may or may not be maintained in the future and is not an indication of future performance. The quantitative estimate of fair value is the same as Morningstar’s estimate of the dollar amount per share that a company’s equity is worth today. The quantitative fair value estimate is based on a statistical model derived from the fair value estimates assigned to companies by Morningstar analysts and includes a financial forecast of the company. The quantitative estimate of the fair value is calculated daily. It is a projection / opinion and not a statement of fact. Investments in securities are subject to market and other risks. Past performance of a security may or may not be maintained in the future and is not an indication of future performance.
