World news – Highlights, RR vs PBKS, IPL 2021, Match 4, Full Cricket Score: Arshdeep stars as Punjab Edge Rajasthan in the thriller – Firstcricket News, Firstpost

What a game we saw at Wankhede! Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab are releasing another high-scoring thriller, only this time Punjab ends up on the winning side when they open their account in the 14th edition of the league. Save a thought for Samson, who beat his heart today and almost brought his team home after getting off to a shaky start to the power play. His 119 may not have earned his team a win today, but it does make him the batsman to watch out for in the Rajasthan camp. More importantly, the Rajasthan camp ensures that the additional stress from the captain does not necessarily affect his eyelashes. Arshdeep Singh, Deepak Hooda and Chetan Sakariya also deserve praise, as the capless Indians would probably have drawn the attention of the national selector with their efforts.

That’s it from us in our coverage of Match 4 of IPL 2021 Join us tomorrow as we introduce you to the game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It’s a good night for us right now.

Sanju Samson, Man of the Game: « I think the second part of the innings was the best I’ve ever played, took my time and respected the bowlers. I took the singles and got into a rhythm to play my strokes. It happens automatically when I focus on my skills and watch the ball and react. Sometimes I lose my wicket too, so I play the same way. It’s about my processes to trust, to be honest. «

KL Rahul, Captain of Kings XI Punjab: I haven’t stopped believing. We haven’t stopped believing. We knew a couple of gates would bring us back. I was pretty happy with the way they played bowling. (Was he afraid of Sharjah being repeated?) Not really. We are used to it. Nothing new for us. A game like this brings the team together. A good start. I know it’s a young team, lots of new guys, it’s important that we support them. (On Hooda) It was amazing. That’s the kind of eyelash we want to see in this IPL. We want to go out there and play fearless cricket. It is important that we go out and play fearlessly. Boys understand what we want them to do. Chris Gayle looked really good. I was always in Arshdeep last year to do some important overs. He’s someone who doesn’t mind bowling those crucial overs and who loves to compete. He’s pretty clear about what he wants to do and trusts himself.

Sanju Samson, Rajasthan Royals skipper: I have no words to explain my feelings. Would have liked to have ended it for my team. I don’t think I could have done better. I thought I had planned it well for a six, but kind of. Catches are declining and good catches have also been made. It’s part of the game. «

Arshdeep Singh, who has been impressive so far today, receives the finale of the evening. Starts with a wide delivery on the outside. Only one single from the next two deliveries as the equation drops to 11 out of 3. Samson goes in downtown about the additional coverage / wide length on the fence to reduce the equation to 5 by 2. Samson denies the single from the fifth ball after not quite joining, choose to face the last delivery required with five. The Rajasthan -Skipper goes big towards the additional cover fence of the last ball, but fails to reach the distance as Hooda collects the winning catch.

Samson’s 119 of 63 balls are ultimately no win, as Rajasthan only four runs too short Coming!

OUT! Arshdeep Singh delivers the fatal blow when Sanju Samson fails to clear the extra protective fence while looking for a maximum for the final ball! RR 217/7

SIX! Samson goes big over the extra deck fence from a full, wide shipment from Arshdeep! RR 217/6; need 5 out of 2 balls

OFF! Meredith breaks through, but it’s not Samson’s wicket he’s wrapping up. Leaving without much of an impact, Tewatia falls behind while trying to nudge a delivery that would have been called far. And that’s Meredith’s first IPL wicket! RR 201/6

FOUR! A century for Sanju Samson on captaincy’s debut! Steer the low full throw from Richardson to the third man to hit the milestone for the third time in the IPL! It only takes 54 deliveries to hit the magical three-digit mark! RR 196/5

FOUR! Dumped to the ground in front of Arshdeep by Dube to open the fifty-year partnership with Samson with just 30 balls! RR 121/3

FOUR! A great way for Sanju Samson to bring up his half century on his captaincy debut! Just before Meredith, Samson simply waits for the ball to climb before rolling it over the goalkeeper’s head. 33 deliveries will be made to reach the milestone. RR 108/3

SIX! Samson brings the team a hundred with a hook in the direction of fine leg in front of Meredith! RR 102/3

BOWLED! The speed change works great for Richardson as it cuts Buttler’s attack in half with a well camouflaged, slower York hitting the stumps. Still an excellent start for the Englishman who has kept RR in the steep chase so far. RR 70/3

OFF! Arshdeep strikes in his first game of the day and takes a good setback from his own bowling when Vohra leaves after the start. RR 25/2

OFF! Ben Stokes is sent back to the locker room, but he almost got out of there! It has a huge outer edge and the ball sails straight into the air, but is picked up by a crawling KL Rahul. (Ben Stokes c Rahul b Mohammed Shami 0)

Only five runs and two wickets come out of the final as Punjab ends on a high level. Sakariya got rid of Rahul first for 91 before dropping Jhye Richardson off the final ball. These were late RR strikes, but Punjab would be happy with that 221-6 total. RR needs 222 to win.

OUT! Jhye Richardson is released when he is captured from Sakariya’s ball by Chris Morris. J Richardson c Chris Morris b Chetan Sakariya 0 (2)

OFF! A moment of Tewatia’s brilliance in the depths as he clings to a catch. He handles the ball as he walks over the ropes but eventually manages to complete a clean cattch. Rahul captured by Rahul! Rahul c Rahul Tewatia b Chetan Sakariya 91 (50)

OFF! Stunning catch of Sakariya to see Pooran for a duck! Taken on the fine leg. Pooran c Chetan Sakariya b Chris Morris 0 (1)

OFF! End of a devastating inning when Deepak Hooda falls on Riyan Parag for a long time! Hooda c Riyan Parag b Chris Morris 64 (28)

FIFTY! Deepak Hooda gets his third IPL fifty with a single towards an extra cover! Well played innings this one!

FIFTY! KL Rahul brings his fifty up with a six that goes straight to the floor!

OUT! What a wicket! Stokes runs in from Long-On, making no mistake this time pulling the hook to see Gayle! Riyan Parag strikes! Gayle c Stokes b Riyan Parag 40 (28)

WICKET! Dream moment for Chetan Sakariya when he picks up his first IPL wicket! Mayank is sharp-edged and is caught behind the gates by Samson! Mayank c Samson b Chetan Sakariya 14 (9)

IPL 2021 , Live Cricket Score, Rajasthan Royals (RR) v Punjab Kings (PBKS): Arshdeep Singh, who has been impressive to date, receives the final of the evening. Starts with a wide delivery on the outside. Just a single from the next two deliveries as the equation drops to 11 out of 3. Samson goes downtown via the extra coverage / wide length on the fence to reduce the equation to 5 of 2. Samson denies the single from the fifth ball after not quite joining, choose to face the last delivery with five needed. The Rajasthan skipper walks towards the additional cover fence of the last ball, but fails to reach the distance as Hooda collects the winning catch.

Samson’s 119 of 63 balls are ultimately no win as Rajasthan only runs four runs Falling short!

Both sides have made a number of changes to their roster since IPL 2020 and were among the main issues at the player auction that took place in early February. Rajasthan broke the bank in pursuit of South African all-rounder Chris Morris and peeled out 16.25 rupees to secure his services. This made it the most expensive purchase in the history of the league. The 2008 master bought, among other things, the Bangladeshi Pacer Mustafizur Rahman, the Indian all-rounder Shivam Dube.

Rajasthan also saw a change in leadership after the franchise decided to part with Steve Smith, who himself took over the reign of the team from Ajinkya Rahane. Smith had a disappointing run with the Royals last year as he barely appeared with the bat while the team finished eighth. The hard-hitting Kerala batsman Sanju Samson, who also serves as a goalkeeper, has now been named leader.

Punjab, on the other hand, strengthened its pace unit by buying Australians Jhye Richardson and Riley Meredith for 14 rupees and 8 rupees, respectively. It would be a little difficult to play both in the same XI, however, as the team wants to use the overseas slots in other departments as well. The 2014 runner-up added top-ranked T20I batsman Dawid Malan to his squad during the pre-season auction and would like to play him alongside Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran.

Rajasthan Royals: Jos Buttler (week), Ben Stokes, Sanju Samson (c), Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris, Liam Livingstone, Shreyas Gopal, Jaydev Unadkat, Kartik Tyagi, Mustafizur Rahman, Andrew Tye, Jofra Archer Mayank Markande, Anuj Rawat, Chetan Sakariya, Kuldip Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, David Miller, Manan Vohra, KC Cariappa, Mahipal Lomror, Akash Singh

Kings XI Punjab enter IPL 2021 with a new name baptized as Punjab Kings and a new logo. It remains to be seen whether this will lead to another end of the season.

The royals could choose to open with the highly rated Yashasvi Jaiswal and Buttler. Whereas Samson, who would be itchy to prove a point, and Stokes would then form a strong mean order.

Rajasthan Royals, the 2008 IPL champions, had a season to forget in 2020 when they finished last in the league placement. How well do you remember your season?
