Is a Jaffa cake a cake or a cookie? Here is the definitive answer – as decided by a court
FIFA 21 promises new features and even more impressive graphics as the popular football game series debuts on next-gen consoles – and it’s just around the corner
The game is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 6, but there is a way to get your hands on it ahead of its release
While there is no ‘traditional’ demo version of the game this year, fans can get their hands on FIFA 21 through EA Play
FIFA’s football foundation is arguably the strongest in the market, providing fans of the beautiful game with an authentic virtual recreation of what it’s like to step out onto the turf of some of the most sacred grounds every year of the world
But everyone yeah, the devs are introducing some subtle new tweaks to improve the overall experience, so fans are naturally excited to try it
FIFA 21 is slated for release on Tuesday, October 6, but there’s a way to get your hands on it more than a week before its release via EA Play
EA Play is EA Games’ subscription service, which gives fans access to older titles from their catalog, as well as trials of some upcoming games
By signing up for the service, you will have access to a 10-hour trial before the game is released, which you can enjoy from October 1
You’ll also get an additional 10 hours of free play when FIFA 21 fully launches on October 6, and your trial progress will carry over to the full game if you choose to purchase it
It has been confirmed that you will be able to start your FIFA 21 10 hour first try through EA Play from 4pm UK on Thursday October 1st
This means that unlike a more traditional demo – which would typically only provide you with a few teams to play with – you’ll be able to jump in and try out any of the game’s modes.
But you’ll want to use your time wisely: while 10 hours seems like a lot of time, it’s easy to spend a lot more time on addicting FIFA gameplay than you originally anticipated
Obviously, by giving you full access to the game, the « trial version » will be a large download weighing many GB
This means that the download may take a while depending on your internet connection speed and you may not be able to start on the point at 4 p.m.
Fortunately, you can preinstall all the relevant data on your console ahead of time to get into the action as quickly as possible
If you play on Xbox and own EA Play or a FIFA 21 pre-order, you can download and preload FIFA 21 now, just as those on Origin (PC) with EA Play can do the same
However, if you are on Steam (PC) or PS4, there is no official preload time to download the game
Obviously, until the official launch of the next generation of gaming consoles (i.e. November 10 for the Xbox Series X | S and November 19 for the PlayStation 5), there is no will have no way to play FIFA 21 on it
But once they’re there, it doesn’t matter which version of the game you choose
Thanks to EA’s “Dual Entitlement” program, players who purchase FIFA 21 on PS4 or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the corresponding next-generation version for free
