Shameless Instagram account featuring ‘secret Glasgow raves’ has been announced on social media featuring DJ events at an ‘undisclosed location’

The events are set to take place next week on November 7 – as the country enters the five coronavirus lockdown restrictions

The Daily Record saw posts from the account shared on Instagram with people saying they plan to « party until we shut down »

The events page says it is strictly for over 18s at venues and locations across town

Hundreds of Instagram users shared the post and tagged the @glasgowsecretraves account in an attempt to gain entry

The account, which has over 66,000 subscribers, said: « A share will guarantee entry and proof of the share (screenshot provided same day) »

« Walking around with an Asda bag over your head, scared of the world or raving your socks off in front of some of the best local DJs? »

Organizers say the event will have private security, restrooms and several DJ sets throughout the night

A Police Scotland spokesperson said he was aware of the account and events are being monitored

It comes after the force said they were halting hundreds of house parties every week despite the current ban on house visits due to Covid-19

Police were given new powers in August to halt rallies and say they have seen more than 3,000 calls

The Scottish government announced yesterday that another 28 people had lost their lives from coronavirus, with an increase of 1,202 cases

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: « Despite overwhelming levels of cooperation and support from communities across Scotland, a small minority of people continue to host or participate in parties and gatherings

« The police chief made it clear that we are asking people to take personal responsibility for doing the right thing and remembering that the purpose of these measures is to contribute to the collective effort to stay safe, protect others and save lives by preventing the virus from spreading « 

Glasgow’s Secret Raves Instagram account responded to the Daily Record’s request for comment by saying events must be socially distanced

An organizer said: « Me and a few other DJs were just trying to see how we could get away with a socially distant, 2 meters distant and masked rave
