England’s Callum Shinkwin beat Finland’s Kalle Samooja in a play-off to win his first European Tour title at the Aphrodite Hills Cyprus Open
Shinkwin birdied the first extra hole to secure the win after the pair finished tied at 20 under par
The 27-year-old, who lost a play-off to the Scottish Open in 2017 after missing four feet to win at the 72nd hole, had previously produced a spectacular finish to secure the club’s goal after a 63 closing
Shinkwin was two shots behind with two holes, but birdieed in the 17th and then pierced 50 feet for an eagle on the 18th to complete a return nine on 29
Samooja had to match Shinkwin’s Eagle to win in settlement and saw his long-range attempt run five feet past the hole, but kept his cool to pierce the birdie putt to force additional holes
The 32-year-old then left with a nearly identical birdie putt to extend the play-off, but pushed him excruciatingly away from the hole
Downed golfer Cormac Sharvin had his best round of the week, a final of 66, to double his score to 10 under and finish 28th
