COLUMBIA, S.. C. (WIS) – Just in time for Thanksgiving, BI-LO donated hundreds of turkeys and other staple foods to help families in need in the Midlands.
Surf and Connect, a local nonprofit, is working with local law enforcement to deliver 600 turkeys and produce bags in Lexington and Colombia before the holiday.
In past years, Surf and Connect hosted community dinners to distribute donations. Due to COVID-19, meals will be delivered this year by law enforcement.
BI-LO donations also helped Serve and Connect provide food for families in Kershaw, Fairfield and Orange County counties.
In fact, Southeastern Grocers, Inc. , The parent company and home of BI-LO, actually donated 8,075 frozen turkeys to communities across the southeast..
