Mikel Arteta dropped a pre-game bomb in an interview with Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison and admitted that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was dropped because of a « disciplinary problem » for Arsenal.
Aubameyang was one of three changes for the Arsenal team, which started the Europa League win against Olympiacos on Thursday evening before the derby against rivals Spurs.
Arteta informed Davison that Aubameyang, the Arsenal captain, will be in North London Derby will « start » but stated that after the matter the club had « drawn the line » and dropped the skipper on the bench.
The highly regarded former Arsenal captain who became manager added that the rest of the details are being kept « in-house » but commented that there is a « process » that everyone must « respect » for games.

Arteta summed up the interview by stating that he was « satisfied » with the decision to go into such a massive encounter without the player with the highest profile being there from the beginning.
This isn’t ideal at all for Aubameyang, who was beaten up for violating Covid-19 restrictions less than a month ago to get a new tattoo that the striker was covering up when he scored a hat-trick against Leeds.
