Former Warriors star Kevin Durant apologizes for a private social media flap.
Durant was called in by actor and comedian Michael Rapaport for homophobic and misogynistic insults and for referring to Rapoport’s wife in her private messages.
It’s unclear whether Durant, now on the Brooklyn Nets, could be disciplined by the NBA for his language.
After Rapaport shared screenshots of their direct messages on Twitter, Durant responded to a comment on Tuesday with a post: « Me and Mike talk to CRAZIER as that regularly and today he’s pissed off … My bad Mike, damn it !! »
Rapaport wrote in his tweet about the screenshots: “I get threats and disgusting messages EVERYDAY, but in my wildest dreams I never thought that @ KDTrey5 would be among them. The (snake emoji) itself is threatening me now, teasing my wife and wanting to fight. This is supposed to be America’s treasure, right? #ImDaRealMVP. ”
Durant and Rapaport have shared amicable jokes in the past, including the former MVP featured in a Rapaport comedy video, but it appears that Durant has crossed the line with these comments.
