The Detroit Tigers will look to build on their victory over the tribe from the opening day. Miguel Cabrera was leading with a two-part home run in the first game, while Jacoby Jones had a double and an RBI to even out Detroit’s score in the winning performance. Jeimer Candelario, Willi Castro and Jonathan Schoop all had hits, and the Tigers scored just five hits as a team to win. Matt Boyd took the win after throwing 5.2 innings, which allowed only three hits to win, while Gregory Soto had a shaky 9th but got the save. Julio Tehran will start here and was 0-4 with a 5/10 ERA and 20 strikeouts for the Angels last season. This is Tehran’s second career start against Cleveland.

I understand the case that could be made either way here as Cleveland is better than what we’ve seen and Detroit this season not many wins in a row, but Plesac is not a popular pitcher on the street -175 and Tehran pitched well in spring training. Instead, I will take the side of the subordinates. Both pitchers are tough with Plesac’s career dominance over Detroit while Tehran had a great spring. Add in Cleveland’s offensive troubles carried over from last year and I think it’s a subpar day at Comerica.
