World news – Davidson vs. Dayton Line, Prediction: Flyers won’t take off

Last season, Dayton was the toast of college basketball and would likely be number 1 if there was a 2020 NCAA tournament. This is now the case, however, as the Flyers look very different and intervene in the Davidson competition on Friday.

Dayton will be without starters Rodney Chatman and Chase Johnson, a duo that scores 22.2 points per game . Johnson shoots 71.4 percent out of 3-point range, takes in six rebounds per game, and Chatman adds 4.2 assists per game.

Without the pair, Dayton averages 64 points per game, including a loss of the perennial Atlantic 10 bottom feeder Fordham. The Flyers must try to figure out a Davidson defense that has scored 65 points or less in five of their six games since the Maui Invitational.

Davidson ranks 30th among Division I and Team teams in terms of rebound rate could evaluate every possession of the ball much better. He had 5.4 fewer sales per game than the Flyers. Dayton flips the ball to 24.5 percent of its possessions, the 16th worst mark in the country.

This season, Dayton ranks 256th in the opponent’s 3-point shooting percentage and in three games without Johnson they can Teams score 41.8 percent of the 3.

With three of Davidson’s top four scorers making at least 35 percent of their outside shots – led by Hyun Jung Lee’s 50.8 percent – the Flyers are facing a tough night.
