World news – CAF – 26 players meet as Oleros’ road to Tokyo resumes

The Australian Football Association (FFA) confirmed today that the 26-man team will participate in the Australian U-23 Men's Football Team Training Camp in Sydney over the next nine days. The fully domestic selection features eleven (11) players from the team that helped Australia qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in January this year, when Australia finished third in the AFC U-23 Championship in Thailand.

While at camp, the Australia U-23 group will play two friendlies against Australian League clubs – the first against Sydney FC on Thursday, November 12, 2020 (kick-off 7:00 pm EST) at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Cojara, and the second in Tuesday, 17th November 2020, in front of the newest club in the tournament, Macarthur FC (kickoff at 3:00 pm EST) in the same venue

Players who have AFC Champions League commitments with their clubs in Doha, Qatar (Sydney FC and Perth Glory FC) will leave the rally after their first match at Camp later this week.
The team began meeting in Sydney on Sunday, and the team’s coach, Graham Arnold, said the players had reached a spring in their stride.
