In a new interview with the Daily Beast, the actress and model reflect on how they felt after their then fiancé publicly apologized after his infamous affair with his children’s nanny.
Miller, who was appearing on a West End production of « As You Like It » at the time, recalled, « It was one of the most challenging moments I hope I will ever experience. Because with this level of public heartache, the last thing you want to do is get out of bed every night, let alone stand in front of 800 people. ”
She continued, “It was really hard. And the other thing was, it was at the height of all this paparazzi madness and there was an epidemic of bad behavior in London. They knew where I would be every night. ”
« There’s been a whole six weeks of this experience that I don’t remember, » she admits. « I can not remember. People who visited me said we had dinner and I don’t remember. I was so shocked about everything. And I was really just getting started. I was only 23. But if you get through this, you feel like you can get through anything. ”
The mother of one child also discussed the intense paparazzi attention she received at the time.
« There were moments when I felt almost crazy and it was incredibly aggressive, » she explained. “The way I did it was to really argue and sue. I secretly recorded paparazzi on a lighter that was a camera and took a privacy law to a supreme court to change the law in England. That basically means that if I’m somewhere or get out of somewhere where I can expect privacy, I am not allowed to take my picture. ”
