World News – CA – Katy Perry dedicates the AMAs performance to her father

. .

Katy Perry debuted « Only Love » at the American Music Awards 2020 on Sunday.

In the first performance since daughter Daisy was born, Perry was accompanied by former Hootie and Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker for a « reinterpreted » version of the song.

Just before she took the stage, Perry dedicated the song to her father, Maurice Keith Hudson, by sharing a cute photo of her as a baby.

Perry’s appearance also falls on the 10th anniversary when she performed “Fireworks” on the AMAs stage.

The singer previously gave a glimpse into the performance with a relaxed picture of her in a denim jacket and a white tank top. A second photo showed Perry taking the picture with Rucker.

The AMAs are hosted by Taraji P.. Henson and will also include appearances from Billie Eilish, JLo and Maluma, BTS, Justin Bieber and Shawn Mendes.
