EW has confirmed that the pop icon has joined the cast of romantic drama Text for You, an English remake of German box office hit SMS Fur Dich
Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan from Outlander will direct the Screen Gems movie about a grieving woman (Chopra Jonas) texting romantically to her late fiancé’s phone, only to find out the number has been reassigned to a man from the other side of town (Heughan) struggling with their own grief With the help of music and the influence of Dion, the couple form a bond that leads to love again
Grace Is Gone director Jim Strouse will direct the film from a screenplay he wrote with rewrites by Ibiza scribe Lauryn Kahn The original German production is based on the popular novel of the same name by Sofie Cramer and was one of the highest grossing films in that region in 2016
The release date for Text for You – produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee and Esther Hornstein (A Star Is Born, John Wick) – has yet to be announced
