B. . C.. . Health officials have a widespread ban on social gatherings with anyone outside the immediate household during the holiday season until midnight on Jan.. January extended. 8, 2021.
On Monday, the provincial health officer, Dr. . Bonnie Henry also extended the requirement to wear masks in public indoor spaces and the ban on adult team sports both indoors and outdoors to the same date.
This means that British Columbians can’t get together with someone they don’t already live with – even in parks, backyards, or restaurants – to celebrate the holidays.
Drive-through vacation events where individuals with members of their household can stay in their vehicles may continue. Events such as a drive-in movie have a capacity of 50 vehicles.
Restrictions on face-to-face services remain in place, including holiday gatherings such as masses.
Weddings, christenings and funerals can still take place with a maximum of 10 people, but meetings before or after such as. B.. Receptions are still prohibited.
All British Columbians are still asked to avoid non-essential travel. Relatives traveling home from work or post-secondary education are encouraged to enter and stay in a budget bubble immediately and follow provincial directions.
Because the sweeping measures in B were introduced. C.. . on Nov. . 19, there has not been a significant decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases, Henry said on Monday.
On Nov.. . 19,217 people were hospitalized with the disease. 349 people were in the hospital on Monday.

Henry had already banned all social gatherings with people other than the immediate household and all physical activities by indoor groups on the lower mainland in November. 7, amid a wave in cases. She also ordered all workplaces to conduct active personal screening for COVID-19.
