WASHINGTON: President Joe Biden promised a partnership with Africa on Friday and hoped to attend the next African Union summit, a U-turn in US interests on a continent largely ignored by its predecessor.
In a video message on the African Union Summit this weekend, practically due to Covid, the new US leader pledged to work with Africans on his key priorities in fighting the virus and climate change, and diplomacy to end the Driving conflict on the continent.
« None of this will be easy, but the United States is now ready to be your partner for solidarity, support and mutual respect, » said Biden.
