F1 is a sport of passion. Endless hours of training with the scent of burned tires and engines whirring by – heaven. Enthusiasts who love the sport get a surreal satisfaction from these sensations. In this regard, Lewis Hamilton had to stop in the middle of an interview to hear the sweet sound of the Renault V10 speeding by at Yas Marina today.
Fernando Alonso is back in F1 after two long years. In his years outside of F1, he won the Le Mans 24 Hours and competed in the Indy 500. However, given the new regulations in F1, Alonso has recovered for his third championship. It looks like Lewis Hamilton will have to keep looking at his rearview mirror next season!
The final race of the season will take place on the Abu Dhabi circuit. Before the race could attract any attention, however, Alonso made it onto the track in his Renault R25. A car from the good old days before the advent of hybrid engines. For many it was an emotional moment when the V10 engine echoed through the empty grandstands.
The feeling awakened by the roaring engine would give any driver on the grid the chills. Lewis Hamilton may love his car, the AMG, but he still considers the screaming V10 to be the cutest sound there is.
“Oh, this sound is just so good. It’s the best sound, ”remarked Lewis during an interview.

Many experts consider hybrid engines to be the end of F1. When they were originally introduced, they all greeted everyone. But it soon consumed the spirit of racing and was limited to a mere monetary sport. Well the FIA is working hard to restore the competition, but none can replace the V10.
Bernie Ecclestone, then director of the FIA, recalls his decision to admit the hybrid motors as a bug. He knew it was going to kill the sport and tried to stop it. It was too late, however; The engine had already given the cars more pace, and that distracted everyone from the fact that it was slowly killing the sport.
Lewis Hamilton returns to the present and may win races with his hybrid engine, but he’s still in love with the V10. Any racing driver who heard the roar of the Renault V10 would have stopped working immediately and enjoyed the moment.
For Alonso, taking the R25 to Abu Dhabi was definitely a trip back in time. He is preparing for next season to fight with the leaders in the new age of racing. Will it be the best comeback story of the decade or will it be a huge disappointment? We have to be patient to find out.
