A loving mother of three has been identified as a tragic suicide victim after her five-year-old son discovered her body in her home.
Rebecca Walker, 46, was found around 9 years old along with her ex-partner in their Fulham Road unit in Gulliver, Townsville. Tuesday at 3 p.m..
She had only moved into the apartment about six weeks ago and was starting over with her five year old.
But the little boy, the youngest of three siblings, is traumatized after finding Mrs. Walker and a man who is believed to be his father dead in their house.
Then he walked hundreds of meters through the streets looking for his uncle’s house, where he offered « very limited » information about what was happening during its development.
Ms. Walker’s sister Samantha early confirmed suspicions that domestic violence had contributed to her death.

‘I lost my sister to domestic violence. . . Every day a woman dies of selfish people who just can’t go on, ”she explained.
‘It hurts that I wasn’t there to help. You may think you know this person, but really you don’t. ‘
Samantha stated that her sister’s ex-partner struggled to move on after their breakup. As a result, a family has lost “a mother, a sister, a daughter, a friend”. .
‘We lost something because someone is so selfish and heartless and can’t let go. ‘
She urged people to look out for possible warning signs that a loved one is suffering in silence, saying that some people feel they cannot speak. .
Detectives have not yet uncovered a cause of death, although early evidence suggests a knife was involved, the Townsville Bulletin reported.
Neighbor Peter MacElroy told Daily Mail Australia that he only saw Ms. Walker and her son on the property and they recently moved in.

Ms. Walker always appeared friendly but kept largely to herself in the quiet neighborhood, and Mr. MacElroy said he only saw her from a distance.
He does not remember ever seeing a man on the premises, but he saw a group of men arrive at home before the police were there.
Mr. MacElroy said one of the men came up to him and said the door (at home) had been knocked down and broken in and they were waiting for the police. .
He was shocked to see the police arrive at home Tuesday morning and watch them cordon off the area and bring in murder detectives.
Detective Inspector David Miles said it was a « tragedy » that took place on the quiet suburban street.
‘Every death is a tragedy. . . [and] in this case . . . We have a young person who has no parents and who has obviously been exposed to extremely tragic circumstances, ”he said.

He is approached by the Child Protection and Investigation Department, but detectives don’t hope he provides useful information given his young age.
Insp Miles said all avenues are still being explored, but this suicide began to look like the most realistic outcome.
There was no history of domestic violence between the couple that was brought to the attention of the police, but detectives vowed to investigate the relationship further.
‘We’re going to go back and look at the full history of individuals known to the police and unknown to the police to try to determine if there was a pattern or the presence of domestic violence in the relationship,’ said Insp Miles.
« At this point there were no medical examinations or autopsies, » he added. They hope to be ready by Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation is ongoing and the police are urging anyone to come forward with information that may help.
