The WBO recently announced that Tszyu, who died on Jan.. December defeated New Zealander Bowyn Morgan, would win a title bout against Castano, the Teixeria at No.. 1 would be banished if a fight between Teixeira and Castano does not take place by 6. January would take place. 1 contender.

COVID-19 restrictions have prevented Teixeria from leaving Brazil, which put the super fight with Castano in doubt.

Teixeira was slated to fight the Argentine with a Golden Boy card in late April, but the pandemic resulted in the fight being canceled.

It’s likely that Tszyu’s next fight will be a catch-up to avoid costing him a title shot against Teixeira or Castano.

Tszyu said after beating Morgan that a world title was not far away.

The Tszyu camp had previously been in negotiations to act as co-support for the yet to be finalized fight between the direct lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez and the undefeated Australian challenger George Kambosos Jr. to act.

Lopez and Kambosos Jr. were scheduled for April 2021, and Sydney and Melbourne vied for hosting roles.

The organizers had hoped to win a Tszyu Castano world title fight on the same map on one of the greatest nights of fighting in Australian boxing history.
